One Week Vacation Starts Tomorrow

~Yay~ I am going to Seattle and Portland for a week starting from tomorrow. I am pretty excited about it. By the time I come home, it would be July already. I can't wait to go back to Malaysia already.

Apparently, swine flu is 'officially' hitting Malaysia. There are schools closing down for a week or so due to the flu. And our beloved Health Minister is urging students coming back from US, UK, Australia, Philippines MUST stay home for 7 days aka quarantine ourselves. I hope everything will be fine by the time I fly back on August.

Weird weather today...

Till then,

Beware of Scam

Beware of scam people! There are so many scams online nowadays. Once you post something up for sale, you will immediately receive a lot of replies from people everywhere in the world giving you all kinds of reasons of buying, and requiring you to send the way they want you to. The common part is, they will always offer a lot more money than the price you set claiming for the shipping. Facebook, Craigslist, ebay, etc. Scams are everywhere. Ignore those buyers from facebook that contacted you with no profile picture and asking you to contact them through another email addresses. There are a lot of the replied emails which looked almost the same in the content (they are automatically generated), and they are scams. The lady working at the post office just told me today that Nigeria has the most scams. They don't even want to ship the item for you if you tell them that you are shipping this thing to Nigeria for sale. Insane!!

I personally encountered this before. I was selling a book for a little over a hundred dollars, and there was this guy who wanted to buy from me .He wanted me to send the book to UK using his own shipping carrier, and he claimed that he is going to pay me extra to thank me for my effort. He told me that he is going to send over two thousand dollars for me to ship and required me to wire the extra money back to him using Western Union, minus the 'commission' I'll get for being nice. I was very doubtful in the beginning and I asked for the check first before I can ship. I told him I need to receive the check and deposit the check first before I can wire the extra money back to him as I don't have that much of money in my bank account. He sent me emails everyday telling me his carrier is waiting for my shipment and I NEED TO DO IT IMMEDIATELY! I do not care, and when I actually received the check, I brought it to the bank and told the bank manager about the whole situation. She chenked for me and found out that the router number is invalid. It's an INVALID check. The bank also advised me to make a report to the police (which I did not do to avoid troubles). I was so pissed and I replied the guy for the last email, fulled with cursings and words that I don't even know when and where I leart from.

Well, I haven't fall into any online traps so far of my online tradings, but I am really annoyed by all these scams. Online world is getting so ugly. Urgg...

Good things of today are, I finally received my camera, my VS purchase, and my twilight book 4. Also, I just leart backstroke today. I'm improving!!! *one cheer to life*

Life is good!!! :)...

Having Fun, Too Much Fun

I don't even have time to blog!!! :)...

I have to announce here: I caught a BIG fish!!! Finally!! It is big and fat, 18 inches long. *yay* I am taking a break from sunday fishing, but I will still have fish buffet later tonight with my fellow combats who are still fighting their best to catch sea monsters right now at the big creek. lol...(photos will be uploaded soon)

I was having so much fun at the Omaha Zoo yesterday. Henry Doorly Zoo is the best zoo in America, if not the largest. My favourite parts would be the tigers and the sharks. The white tiger is so cool. They have polar bear too, although it is smaller than my imaginative bear. I love going with Lou, Alicia, Darrin, Maru, Sonia, Bryant, and of course, my dear. They are just fun to hang out with. I love the picnic style lunch and dinner. It saves money, saves time, plus you get to talk a lot with friends and enjoy food that are prepared by each other. Awesome trip!!! I am going to miss these people so much later on...

Damn! I missed the Bare Escentuals 25% off on everything 3 days sales already.

Something worth mentioned, Sephora came out with its new boxed set. What is so cool about these sets of miniature beauty products is that, it gives us a chance to try out several different products without committing to a full size of something that may or may not work for us. For example, the Lash Stash Deluxe Sampler has 11 Sephora best-seller mini mascaras in it, which includes stila, lancome, bare escentuals, and more. So cool! And, these sets only cost $24-$40. GREAT VALUE!!!

Wednesday Dinner Gathering

I wasn't feeling well yesterday. Same old sickness-dizziness. Head spinning like anything. I thought I am going to throw out and will need to be sent to health center, luckily I was not. But I skipped my swimming session yesterday. I miss it so much!!! :(...

It is a darn hot day today. The heat and the stuffy air remind me of Malaysia. I don't think I can live well with it. I don't even want to think about it now.

I went to the gym. I was already sweating even before doing anything, but it feels good. I was cycling while reading Eclipse(Yes, I read real slow so as to wait for the next book to arrive). The story is so dragging which annoyed me a little bit. I started to hate Bella, who can love and kiss Jacod and at the same time wants to marry Edward to have sex with him. Whatever...!!! Anyway, I also played volleyball with myself. *poor me*

Our Indian dinner night was really good. I was very happy to see all my friends again. I haven't seen them a lot since I graduated. Meeting them brought back the memories of working at the foodcourt and cafe. I think I am going to miss that time a lot. *sob*

Now, I got a job interview offered by a tax company at Petaling Jaya. I hope the job vacancy is still there by the time I go home. I swear I'll take anything I can get. But, does anyone knows a better job seeking website for Malaysia or Singapore, other than jobstreet? A job-hunting website with better-quality companies...hmmp...

Another Monday

I said that I am going to stay fair till I go home, I failed. Fishing took my word, putting me in a sun-phobia condition now. My past weekend was nothing but fishing. The zero fish result on saturday had motivated me to the fullest, and here we go, 7.30am at the Ada Hayden Lake, with no time for breakfast but a banana. With the help of the grossed live bait, I got two fishes very quickly. TWO!!! Two small baby fishes, which are not allowed to bring home but to let them back to their world. None of us get any big fish there. Out of disappointment, we decided to leave the place and went for quick lunch, before switching to another BIGGER lake with MORE BIGGER fishes. And we went, at noon, fishing for 3++ hours under the scorching sun. I am so regret right now. Although I was all wrapped with umbrella from time to time, I just can't be spared from getting brown. Anyway, good news is, two of our heroes caught 8 big fishes. I got another 2, again, small fishes! @^$%&^@#_(*@. We did have our fish buffet at night. Three steamed and the rest were cooked asam. They were so delicious. Lakers won the championship, as many expected; Kobe Bryant was awarded MVP, nothing surprising!

The whole weekend of fishing and eating out made me feel unhealthy. I have had stomachache throughout the two days. I am feeling better now after swimming.

I cleared part of my before-home shopping lists during the weekend. Too bad a short from Hollister is not available anymore. I knew this would happen, I knew it!! I shouldn't have hesitating for so long.

Now, I need new skincare and make up products. I think it's time to have a total makeover for my cosmetics. I seriously think I should get better products this time instead of the common drugstore brands. The coming endless interviews and working life would require more make up, and appearance does count in Malaysia I would say (I love Americans, they don't say "you're ugly!" or "you're fat!"). I am still researching on these products, and at the meantime, Clinique, PurMinerals, and Bobbi Brown are on top of the list. Bobbi Brown does have very nice make up products I must say, but they are really expensive. I will need more time to compare in order to make costs < benefits decision. :)...Well, hopefully I have the luck to buy them at Seattle Premium Outlet though.

This week is going to pass fast! Wednesday Indian-themed dinner at friend's house, Saturday one day outing at Omaha Zoo, and Sunday fishing day. In between I'll be excitedly looking forward to the arrival of all my online purchases. *yay*

Resume and Fishing

Saturday, I spent some time with myself today. I was talking to friends in Malaysia, happily announcing my date home. Only did I realized that a lot of my friends who had graduated almost the same time as me will start their working life soon, very soon, everywhere in Malaysia and Singapore. I can't waste time anymore, I don't want to waste time anymore. I should have enough break by then. If I were to still lead my honeymoon life after I go home, that would probably be just an excuse for me to escape from working. I always remind myself that this trip home is not for fun anymore.

Anyway, I did quite some job applications on Jobstreet for KL and Singapore. The application style is so different!!! In Malaysia, employers want you to voice out your expected salary, which in US is a BIG NO, until you secure the job. Then, most companies in Malaysia ask for a photo along with your resume, and in US, this will constitute a kind of discrimination. Not only photo, US companies cannot even ask for gender, race, or marital status questions in conducting interview. Another thing would be the length of your resume. My friend told me that her resume is 2 pages long and 3 pages with photo included. I was always told by my career coordinator to keep my resume in one page no matter how. Wondering why America always wants to be different from the rest of the world in everything.

Finally I went to BestBuy to try out camera and MacBook Pro. I love them!!! I am going to get them...both. *cool*

First fishing session happened today. It was sunny and hot. I had my SPF50 on. I am still very worried about getting tanned. I don't want to be tanned this summer, not this time. I don't want to go home causing neighbors telling my mom that I looked like I just lived at Africa for sometime, dark and thin (which happened last summer). I will try my very best to stay indoor till I get on the plane. But fishing, I guess I need to wear all long next time. I love my new hobby. Fishing is fun. Fishes in America are probably mostly deaf, because we talked and we shouted (maybe just me) and those dummies never go away. Result, I got zero fish today!!! Zero fish!!! Oh my!!! We were annoyed as the fake bait we used only lured the fishes to play with our bait. They never got hooked up. We went to Wal-Mart again and got the live bait. Tomorrow will be a better day. I am going fishing again tomorrow at 7am to find my big fat fishy. I promise to have fish buffet tomorrow evening while watching NBA finals!! We shall see...

Till then,

~xoxo~

Happy Friday

1. Slept pretty well last night, just one nightmare, I'll take it. :)...

2. Sold most of the big stuffs at home already, within two days, now...car. CAR FOR SALE people!!!

3. Swam like a fish today, well, maybe a slower fish...

4. Currently at the last chapter of Eclipse, damn Bella is so greedy. She wants both Edward Cullen and Jacod Black. How could she not be satisfied to have that Edward? The Edward who is very attractive, rich, powerful, protective, loving, and immortal. Insane!

5. Raining and raining and more raining...

6. Bought fishing license and fishing pole already. Yes, fishing in US needs license!! Cost me $17.50. hemp...I wish I could get few salmons, that would worth the license money. Still, I am VERY excited for fishing this weekend.

7. 4-on-4 volleyball, tiring, 2-1, we won!!! Never eat McChicken half an hour before sport. It makes me sick!!!

8. Can't wait to go to Best Buy tomorrow to check out the Sony Cybershot W220 and MacBook Pro that I am going to buy.

9. Probably the last NBA game for this season on this coming Sunday. MUST WATCH!!!!!

Victoria Secret

Another same sleepless night...

VIctoria Secret, as usual, is having its summer sales right now.

One bra that caught my attention: 100-way bra.

In my opinion, this bra is essential to every lady. It has so many ways of wearing and the best things are, it has a subtle lift for better shape and underwire cups for support. It also comes in three easy-to-match colors, nude, white, and black. Bare back dress is no longer a problem. Comparing to using adhesive tapes, this bra definitely yields better result and is more securing in any way.
I talked to some boutique shop assistants and also VS employees, VS is the only brand that has low back strapless bra. Since VS is discounting this bra from $50 to $37.50 right now, it is definitely a good grab.
Notice: It says sales end tomorrow. (I am a little doubt about it though)

What's Happening?!?!

So what now??

Had been bothering by what I called the 'post-graduation trauma', and finally now I am released. Yes I am happy. I am still happy. But why in the world that I can't get a good night sleep? I am feeling sudden dizziness more often than usual today, and I can't seem to concentrate on anything I do.

There are so many things need to be handled right now. We have so many things at home that need to be sold or given away. Minusing the travelling period we planned on, there are really not much time left. I haven't have time to bid good bye to people I know here. Or I guess I am actually avoiding it. I am always a coward when it comes to separation. Everytime!! Every single time I have to leave or people has to leave me, my first reaction would be to avoid seeing anyone that might cause me tears. Everytime! Every single time I never succeeded in controlling my tears. Leaving NS camp, Leaving my form 6 friends, Leaving Inti, Leaving Malaysia, now Leaving America. I sometimes hate the emotional part of me.

Well, forgive me if I leave without bidding goodbye. I am still a coward after all these years.

Big Decision

Well, people said making decision is always the hardest, especially when you have so many uncertainties lying ahead. So true!! And I have been going through so many brain-cracking decision making process after my graduation. I know now is the point in life where I need to set a path for my future. Future, future seems to be so subjective and unpredictable. I thought I know what I want, I am so sure that I can go through this transition period. I have beautiful pictures in my mind regarding my future life here, here in the United States. I know I will never want to leave this carefree place, with so much freedom to do anything I want. I just love it here.

But, life is different from dream. Yes, these are my dream life. 'MY' dream life. I can't live with me only. My loved ones are all in Malaysia. A dream life is not complete without my loved ones with me. Surprisingly, at the moment when I decided to go home, a streak of undescribable feeling arose. It's like the falling pieces of a broken heart magically becomes a whole again. All of a sudden, I realized that home is really where the heart belongs.

I can see myself clearer planning from this path that I have chosen. Many people will be happy for me, I strongly know that. Life chosen, be it good or bad, I am going to live with it. I know that my loved ones will always be there to support me. Please give me blessings, lotsa blessings! I would really appreciate.

America, I'll be Back!!!

Shopping~~~

Urghh...I can't remember when is the last time that I actually do shopping for my closet. Anyway, my closet probably wouldn't allow anymore 'intruders' since there really isn't much space left. Thinking of the fact that we are going to move to a one bedroom apartment in the coming August, one bedroom meaning there will only be one closet for the two of us. NO....!!! Contract signed and yet I haven't figure out a way to allocate enough space for our clothing and shoes. For this reason I have been prohibiting myself to bring home with more stuffs, stuffs!!!Be it be clothes, shoes, home decors, or even a puppy (aw...). Okay, and everyone knows how a drug addict is like. Can't Live Without It!!!! And so, I have been window shopping online, and I said online. Not even a brick-and-mortar shop (well, I still don't trust my self-control ability yet, HA...)!!

By devoting myself entirely to the online fashion world, I started out with US common fashion brands like Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister co, Gap, American Eagle, Victoria Secret, Express, Forever 21, and new favourite Charlotte Russe. And, apparently they are not enough to satisfy my shopping thirst. So, I digged more and......dah dan!!!

And so, these are all the fashion website that are hitting Malaysia ladies!! I am so glad that I am not in Malaysia right now. Or else...let's not talk about this. LoL...
Well, the websites above have many similarities in the products they offer. I think the style and the price of the clothings are so much more attractive than those in the United States. But I am being a little skeptical about the quality of their products, I am not sure!!!

So you know what I do in my free time now...hahaha...

Teeth Whitening

It's a Monday!!!! It's the beginning of another week, it's cool outside, the gloomy weather is very deactivating. Nevertheless, I am not upset with any of these. I think I am actually enjoying weekdays more than weekend now. I feel more occupied in the weekdays, and i am always looking forward to my swimming time. :)...

Well, few days ago, my friend was chatting with me in MSN, and she realized that there's something different in my profile picture. My very white teeth it is!!!

Two months ago, I noticed that my teeth are getting yellowish. All my smiling pictures are no longer captivating. In fact, I felt embarrassed to take smiling pictures or closed-up pictures with the focus on my face. I quickly went online and tried to search for remedy. After going through all kinds of product reviews and expert recommendations, I decided to buy Crest Whitestrips Pro Effects. The MSRP of this product is $39.99, and I bought in Wal-Mart, which cost me $34.99.
Here's the product:

So, I wear it for 30 minutes twice a day. It's pretty easy as you just have to peel the strips and apply to your teeth. In a foil pouch, there are upper strip and lower strip. I can wear it while checking emails or reading books or even talk on the phone (but not very recommended..hehe).
One thing that needs to be mentioned here is that DO NOT wear the strips immediately after you brush your teeth. Doing so will cause stinging pain on your enamel, and white patch will form on the pain area of the enamel (however, the white patches will disappear after few hours).

Here's the result of the whitening strips:

Amazing!!!! Also, this product is result guaranteed!!! If you think you are not very satisfied with the result, you just have to send the UPC barcode of your product and your purchase receipt along with your name and mailing address (within 60 days of purchase) to the company to get FULL REFUND. Good Deal!!!
Happy Monday!!!

My New Favourite- Aspirin Mask

Okey so, being a jobless graduant right now, my summer daily life, apart from swimming and gym every single day, is giving too much free time for me to kill. Of course, I spend a considerate amount of time hunting for job openings online. Other than that, I am overdosing myself with A LOT of readings. I read all kinds of stuff. And so, I would like to share some of the useful information I got from my online readings.

Here, I have my new favourite- aspirin mask. So, I was idling in YouTube, and I found this make up tutorial from this lady called Ricebunny. She is pretty, smart, and so talented. I decided to look into more about her, and I found her beauty blog. She has tons of beauty information and make up tutorials. Of course, with her already-pretty-shape-of-face, anything that put on her face is going to look nice. I guess there should be room for reasonable thinking if one were to read her beauty tips.

Anyway, here there is this aspirin mask that she introduced in her blog that caught my attention. According to Ricebunny, this mask gives beautiful healthy skin. It clears acne and other skin problems. It is a very long article.

To summarize it, use two tablets of uncoated aspirin and dissolve them in less than a table spoon of water (sprinkle VERY little water). Add 2 squirts of honey (just the regular honey you spread on your pancake) and Mix it. Apply on your face, and leave for 10 minutes.

Yes, it's so simple. I tried it last night, for the first time. The instant result that I saw was that my face does feel smoother and clearer. The mask did exfoliate my skin and remove dirt and dead skin. I am feeling pretty confident with this mask, but for the actual result, I would have to use it for another week or so before I can assure you. I am hoping that this formula will work great as this is like the cheapest mask one can DIY. I bought the aspirin for 99 cents for 100 tablets, and the honey in a big bottle will not exceed $2. Oh yea, one drawback of this mask is that your skin will be more susceptible to sun. SPF moisturizer with UVA and UVB is a MUST especially when going outdoor!!!

Well well, I am sharing this purely because I think this is a very good knowledge of skincare.
The original, more detailed explanation can be found at http://ricebunny.xanga.com/567728185/aspririn--beautiful-skin/.

Till then, ~xoxo~

A New Life

Wee~~~a brand new blog for me!! I used to be a blogger, a blogger in Friendster. I love my blogs there, they signifies every moment of me growing up, and everyday of my life. I ditched my Friendster blog shortly after I came to United States (a.k.a my transformation period). Yes, I do changed a lot! The change is so substantial that I failed to deny in any ways. Anyway, a few days ago, I was reading my old posts on my Friendster blog, and that brought up lotsa memories. I read all of the friends' comments too, and I felt bad for just leaving my blog like that. I just realized that I had actually built up a network of readers for my blog, who are keen to know me more, who are concern about my everything, and most of all, who are the people that I called 'friends'. Ever since I stop blogging there, they never hear from me anymore, my life, my stories, my everythings seemed to be faded away. I am Sorry for those who used to enjoy reading my blog, really Sorry!!!

Well, now, a shift to new blog. I'll continue posting about my everything. The New ME!!! A little updating from me:

-I graduated with a Bachelor degree, double majoring in Accounting and Finance from Iowa State University on May 9, 2009.
-I am currently actively seeking a job, that I like, hopefully.
-I CAN swim already!!!
-I am reading Twilight 3rd book- Eclipse everyday. Gosh, such a GOOD book!!!
-and of course, I am still deeply in love with my 11, Edwin Shim. Our 39th-Month Anniversary just past, and there'll be more to come. lol...

all right, to be continued......

~xoxo~
